This high quality, bright white, instant dry, satin (semi gloss) finish photographic paper gives high colour density to give the very best quality.
We recommend this paper for printing of wallcharts, photos and posters, POS posters where a lightweight paper is required. Also available in 260gsm heavyweight satin photo paper.
This photo satin paper is constructed with a high opacity base, a 2-sided PE coating, and 4 level ink jet layers to control ink absorption and facilitate lamination. In basic terms this means that the back is coated and the front paper surface is coated 4 times with an inkjet coating in the production process to allow it accept and absorb more ink without cockling (the paper won’t warp with a lot of ink).
GDS satin photo paper has good lamination properties and therefore can be used for short term outdoor signage if laminated – we would recommend also ideally using a pigment ink printer, such as the Canon PRO-4000 for printing for this purpose.

The Canon PRO-4000 12 colour Photo Printer can print on a very wide range of media from basic papers, to presentation matt, heavyweight matt, satin or gloss photo paper, backlit film, canvas, fine art papers, roller banner, self adhesive, vinyl and even outdoor banner to name the most popular.
The Canon PRO-4000 can print onto roll paper or you can individually load paper sheets to use sheet media. We much prefer roll feed and we should be able to supply a variety of rolls in your chosen media type.
The Canon PRO-4000 takes rolls on both 2″ or 3″ inch core (the core is the tube in the centre of the roll) and you will find blue core adaptors that come with the printer. These can be clipped on to the spindle to fill out the 3 inch core rolls.
You don’t have to use Canon branded papers on your PRO-4000 printer. You will usually find a ‘near enough’ media setting on the Canon PRO-4000 media list on the printer display, but you can also use the Media Configuration Tool to download more Canon branded media types or to custom build your own specific paper setting. Likewise, you can also download .icc profiles for this printer if you choose to use fine art brands such as Innova, Canson, Hahnemuhle, PermaJet, Fotospeed etc…

WHAT PAPER SIZES FIT THE CANON PRO-4000 PRINTER…?
The Canon PRO-4000 (44″) printer can take rolls up to 44″ wide / 1118mm and up to 90mt long (15cms diameter).
Here is an overview of the standard sizes of wide format paper rolls and sheets and the size of prints you can use them for. Sizing varies between traditional CAD sizing where true ISO sheet size is required from rolls, and graphics sizing which is almost always oversized to allow designs with a bleed for trimming. Where a roll accommodates two sizes you can print both by simply turning your print to landscape.
