This month we have selected the very talented Cornish Photographer David Ortiz for our Customer Focus. So grab yourself a brew and get yourself comfy and enjoy some of David's work- but first a few words from the man of the month himself!
"I am a self taught, outdoor photographer based on coastal farmland near Padstow, North Cornwall. On the whole I use manual, prime 'legacy' lenses across 24mm, 35mm and 135mm. I find non digital, auto focus lenses give a nicer, less clinical look that digital lenses can tend to.
Living in such a beautiful part of the country I am lucky to have an endless and ever changing source of inspiration for my photography. In fact, the environment that I live in and taught myself surrounded by, moulded my photographic style and how I interpret my surroundings. Equally there is so much opportunity to experiment with a more artistic style as well as the more commercial imagery that I often print and sell.
When it comes to printing whether it be for myself or prints to sell I always use my Canon iPF6450 609mm printer for all my work and am always blown away by the results. This, in the main part, is down to the stock I use, which is essential when it comes to delivering exceptional prints time and again. Thankfully GDS have a fantastic range of paper stocks that fulfil all of my paper requirements. This can range from Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl or Baryta, Innova’s FibaPrint range to GDS’ excellent own brand Fine Art Cotton Rag, both smooth and textured."
